Alonso’s DNF

On Friday I concluded my entry with the question ‘Will three drivers still be in contention for the title when the F1 circus leaves Fuji for Shanghai?’ The answer would seem to be an emphatic ‘No’!

In fact, not only are there no longer three drivers in contention, but it would be hard to argue that there are even two drivers still in it after Hamilton’s brilliant drive yesterday and Alonso’s DNF.

Once the safety car finally went in the race was a thriller, with Hamilton surviving an assault from Kubica, Raikkonen flying up and down the leaderboard, Webber uttering profanities live on TV, and that absolutely insane last lap battle between Massa and Kubica!

Back in Europe, and more specifically Guildford, and even more specifically GPL, our annual stock take has been going on, so everyone’s been busy counting away all day.

Kyosho have announced a couple of new 1:18 replicas of the BMW 7 series. The first one is of the innovative ‘Hydrogen 7’, in silver (Product Code - KY8574S). BMW adapted its V12 so that it could run on either hydrogen or petrol, and the replica will actually be detailed enough to include fuel flaps for both types of fuel. The standard ‘petrol only’ 760Li has also been announced in black (Product Code - KY8574BK). Both have been announced as spring 2008 releases.
