My New Site…But on with Diecast!
Welcome to the new Leigh’s Diary website! It follows a similar format to before, but it’s more interactive now as you can leave comments to the posts if you like. It also looks a bit more colourful than before, plus you can view our new, revolutionary in the world of diecast retailing, diecast webcasts!
The roller coaster 2007 F1 season continues. By the first pitstops I was already planning ‘Hamilton Champion’ adverts for this week, but then circumstances changed ever so slightly! The result leaves us with a fascinating three-way fight between Hamilton, Alonso and Raikkonen going into the last race of the season, the first time that this has happened since Mansell, Prost and Piquet headed off to Adelaide for the final race back in 1986.
It was also Ferrari’s 200th Grand Prix victory, which Mattel surely can’t turn down commemorating with a special. Fingers crossed, as this would give us a 1:18 2007 Ferrari replica in the nice, darker shade of red that the team have used since the Monaco Grand Prix.
Our signings man, Jason, returned from Germany today with some new 1:18 Michael Schumacher signed replicas, which are now available from stock. These are the Monza special (DC2605MS), China special (DC2605CS), Sao Paulo special (DC2605SPS), and black Ferrari FXX (HW7126S).
Mattel also provided us with an image of their forthcoming 1:18 Ferrari 575 GTZ Zagato (HW2983).
To finish off today, congratulations to James Toseland on (finally) wrapping up the 2007 World Superbike Championship. He held a massive lead at one stage, but must have nerves of steel as it gradually got erased by Haga and Biaggi. The final margin was just two points! Minichamps have already confirmed that they will be releasing a 1:12 replica of JT’s 2007 Honda Fireblade (PO71252), although we won’t see it until well into next year. You can also get the signed version exclusively from us (PO71252S).
