Massive Mattel Delivery
Mattel have certainly been busy in the last couple of weeks. After our bumper delivery from them on Friday, we received more new 1:18 releases from them today.
First up was the Fernando Alonso Renault R26 from last year’s Brazilian Grand Prix (DC2601SP), where the Spaniard secured his second world championship. The car is race aged and the driver figure has the right hand up against the helmet, as Fernando’s was when he crossed the line, which is a nice touch. It also comes with the pitboard that Renault made up to commemorate the team winning both titles in 2006.
Also on the delivery was a new release in each of Mattel’s Ferrari F430 Challenge and Ferrari FXX Challenge ranges. Both of these are one-make series for ‘gentlemen racers’. From the F430 Challenge, we have 2006 Champion Belluzzi’s #4 car (HW9533), while from the FXX Challenge we have Muller’s #23 ‘clock’ liveried car (HW7116).
