Our best selling Kyosho replica of 2007 was definitely the 1:18 2005 Ferrari 575 GTC ‘Evoluzione’ in black. This was the version that came complete with the yellow ‘Ferrari’ strip across the top of the windscreen, and with the Pirelli logos on the front bodywork. It sold out very quickly, but Kyosho have just announced that they will be re-releasing it in 2008 (KY8392A). It will also be available for the first time in red (KY8392B), and yellow (KY8392C).
So, that was the last piece of diecast news for 2007! I hope that all readers have found the diecast diary to be a useful tool throughout the year, and will continue to ‘subscribe’ through 2008. Happy New Year!

Today IXO announced some new 1:43 replicas in their seemingly never-ending Ferrari ‘closed wheelers’ collection, i.e. not Formula One but roadgoing and GT cars.
The new road cars are the 1947 125S (IXFR49), 1948 166 MM (IXFR47), and the 1957 250 GT California (IXFR52).
The race cars are the #11 575 from the Monza round of the 2004 FIA GT Championship (IXFR41), the #50 550 Maranello from the 2006 Le Mans 24 Hours (IXFR70), and the #78 F430 GT from the 2007 Le Mans 24 Hours (IXFR88).
Where it will stop is anyone’s guess, but those of you collecting every release must have a pretty impressive display going by now!

It may still be the Christmas holidays for most people but I’ve never missed a diary entry when I’ve been in the office so I see no reason to start now!
Today we received sample images from Mattel for two of their forthcoming 1:18 replicas; the Elite Maserati MC12 (HW2986), and the 60th Anniversary Ferrari F430 Scuderia (HW2976). Hopefully this means that we will see both of these early in the New Year.
Something we will definitely see early in 2008 is the Minichamps 1:12 Lawrence of Arabia Brough Superior (P135500), which we will receive in the second week of January.

It’s Christmas Eve, and we’re still open! There aren’t many of us here, it has to be said, but having used up all of my holiday allowance on F1 trips (it was worth it!), I’m going to be in for the non-Bank Holiday days over Christmas!
Kyosho are also still working; today they announced two new 1:18 replicas of the gorgeous Ferrari 575 GTC, except that these two are racing versions. They are both from the JMB team from the FIA GT Championship, one from Estoril in 2003 (KY8393B), and the other from Donington Park in 2004 (KY8393C). As you can see from the sample photos, they look stunning.
All that remains is to wish all diary readers a happy Christmas and a collectible New Year!

The rest of Mattel’s 2008 range was announced today, all of which can now be found at the top of our ‘New Announcements’ category.
It’s good to see some 1:18 and 1:43 Formula One Ferrari specials from the second half of the 2007 season in the darker shade of red, and the 1:43 Ferrari 200th win collection also looks very interesting, with a replica representing the marque’s 1st, 50th, 100th, 150th and 200th wins in the sport.
In the 1:18 Elite range, there are brand new toolings in the shape of the Ferrari 149 and Ferrari Dino 246, as well as an ‘upgrade’ of existing replicas such as the F430 coupe and F355 Berlinetta.
See them all in the new announcements section.

Today Mattel announced their new Michael Schumacher releases for 2008.
The highlight has to be the 1:18 replica of his 2007 Ferrari F2007 end of season testcar, which will come complete in the darker shade of red (HW5423). It will be a ‘Race Suit Special’, coming presented on a plinth alongside a part of his overalls that he used during the test. It will be a limited edition of 5,387 pieces, which, of course, signifies his five world championships and the 387 days from his last Grand Prix in Brazil 2006 until the day of the test!
There will also be five Ferraris released in Mattel’s Elite range; one from the specific race in which Schumacher secured that season’s world championship at the wheel of a Ferrari. So, these will be his cars from the 2000 Japanese Grand Prix (HW2074), 2001 Hungarian Grand Prix (HW2075), 2002 French Grand Prix (HW2076), 2003 Japanese Grand Prix (HW2077), and 2004 Belgian Grand Prix (HW2078). These will all be limited editions of 5,555 pieces each.
Finally, two of Michael’s ‘private’ cars will be released in the Elite range in 1:18. These will be his black #30 Ferrari FXX (HW2061), and red Ferrari Enzo (HW2058).

Our last Minichamps delivery of the year was certainly very well received, with a few gems on it.
Starting off with Valentino Rossi, we now have his 1:12 2001 Le Mans Honda NSR500, with the barcode replacing the Nastro Azzurro logos (PO16176), which is limited to 9,546 pieces, and the 2006 standing figure, which has him holding his helmet underneath his left arm, and is limited to 7,546 pieces (PO60246).
Moving on to Lewis Hamilton, we now have in stock his ‘regular’ 2007 McLaren-Mercedes MP4/22 (DC27402), so in the end that just scraped through in time for Christmas.
The highlight for me though was the latest release in the 1:43 Ayrton Senna Racing Car Collection, of the Brazilian riding on the sidepod of Nigel Mansell’s Williams-Renault FW14 at the 1991 British Grand Prix (P914305). It is Number 27 in the collection, and is finally here after a wait of four years.

You certainly knew Christmas was almost here today; things were extremely busy!
Therefore today’s diary entry will be concise and to the point! We received a large delivery from Sun Star, which included the new 1:12 Volkswagen camper van (SS5071), and restocks of the 1:18 2007 Subaru Imprezas of Chris Atkinson (SS4391) and Petter Solberg (SS4392), and the black 1:18 Escort XR3 (SS4972).
We also received the new 1:18 Schumacher ‘Anatomy’ presentation from Mattel (HW6234), definitely their most imaginative subject to date.
Message ends!
