Our Leigh had to step out for a meeting this afternoon, so back at the office we drew straws to see who would take care of his worldwide-famous diecast diary. And quite a bit happened today.
AUTOart’s delivery arrived, with such delights as the new Lotus Europa S in silver (AA75366) and black (AA75367), the Porsche 911 GT3 RSR finished in the Red Bull livery (AA80473), two colourways of the Lamborghini Diablo 6.0 VT; orange (AA74526) and yellow (AA74527) and three variants of the 2005 Nissan Fairlady Z GT car, the Calsonic (AA80579), Xanavi (AA80576) and carbon fibre cars (AA80580). There were also two versions of Sebastien Loeb’s 2007 Citroen C4 WRC, the Germany (AA80739) and Monte Carlo (AA80738) cars.
Just when we thought we had our fill for the day, Solido turned up. They delivered us Loeb’s 2008 Red Bull-liveried C4 (SL118015)! Quite an overwhelming day as you can see!

Today we received new deliveries from Minichamps and Mattel.
Minichamps released their next 1:43 2008 Formula One car, Nick Heidfeld’s BMW F1.08 (DC28403), and their first 1:18 Peugeot 908 replica; the 2007 second place car of Pedro Lamy, Stephane Sarrazin and Sebastien Bourdais (PG071208). There were also the 1:43 Quantum Of Solace Aston Martin DBS (P137622) and Alfa Romeo 159 (P120500B).
Mattel released Felipe Massa’s 1:18 2008 Ferrari F2008 (DC2802), and their 1:43 replicas of the Ferrari California; red (HW5592) and blue (HW5594). The blue version is almost sold out already however.
Finally today, Japanese manufacturer WITS announced their second 1:12 classic motorbike replica. It will be the Honda CB1100 RD (WH002), and we should see it released early next year.

We had new releases from CMC and Trofeu today.
CMC released the second colourway of their massively detailed 1:18 replica of the Porsche 901, in green (CMC067B).
Trofeu released their second most popular model of the year, Colin McRae’s last ever rally car, his 1:43 Ford Escort Mk.II from the 2007 International Manx Rally (TR022). Trofeu’s most popular model of the year was also a McRae car, his 1993 Subaru Impreza from the RAC Rally, which sold out straight away.
This Escort will sell out quickly too. After fulfilling our pre-orders our remaining stock is already precariously low, so make the decision quickly!

Today Minichamps confirmed that we will see their first two 1:43 James Bond cars from ‘Quantum Of Solace’ next week.
They will be Bond’s trusty Aston Martin DBS (P137622), and the baddies’ black Alfa Romeo 159 (P120500B).
I’m afraid that’s all that happened today! At least there was still something to report though!

Today SMTS sent us samples of two of their forthcoming brand new subjects, and they are both very poignant models indeed, neither of which have been replicated before.
They are both Jim Clark Formula 2 Lotus 48s. The most significant car is obviously the 1968 Hockenheim Gold Leaf version (SMTS222), in which Clark lost his life 40 years ago. All the staff at SMTS are big Jim Clark fans, and so are keen to replicate as many of their hero’s racing cars as they can. Clive Chapman (Colin’s son) of Classic Team Lotus has also insisted that his royalties from the sale of this model be donated to the Jim Clark Memorial Fund.
The second car is Clark’s 1967 F2 Lotus 48 (SMTS223), in the ‘traditional’ Lotus colours of green and yellow.
We hope to see both cars released in time for Christmas.

Today AUTOart announced some more new 1:18 subjects, as their back catalogue continues to grow!
The first two are the two Mercedes 500 SECs from the 1989 Spa 24 Hours; the #5 car of Heyer, Mertes and Wess (AA88931), and the #6 car of Ludwig, Cudini and Muller (AA88932).
The other new subject is the #16 Porsche 917K from the 1970 Sebring 12 Hours, as driven by Elford and Ahrens (AA87086).
We also received a sample image from Mattel of one of their most popular 1:43 Elite cars, Niki Lauda’s 1977 Ferrari 312 T2 (HW5581). This is one of the World Championship winning cars that is almost impossible to find, hence why it is so popular. I’ve got one earmarked to fill one of those annoying gaps in my F1 Champions’ collection!

We received the new Minichamps delivery today. Our most popular seller from it was easily Alan Jones’ 1978 Williams FW06 (P780027), followed closely by Sean Connery’s Ford Mustang from ‘Diamonds Are Forever’ (P087120B)!
Also on the delivery were Minichamps’ next two 1:43 2008 DTM cars, the Audis of Alex Premat (P081714) and Mike Rockenfeller (P081718).
We’ve almost finished our big Christmas diecast catalogue now, which will be supplied to the printers at the end of the week. You should see this through your letterbox in about two weeks’ time.

Today Norev announced some new 1:18 announcements that we should see in the second quarter of next year.
Along with the usual suspects of Citroen, Peugeot and Renault road cars, the most exciting subject is Tom Kristensen’s 2008 DTM Audi A4 (NV188326). There is also a fun piece in the Le Mans race director complete with chequered flag (NV140510)!
In the new deliveries stakes, we received Mattel’s 1:18 replica of Kimi Raikkonen’s 2008 Ferrari F2008 (DC2801), and Mondo’s Fiat 500 Abarth in its three colourways; white (MD50087W), red (MD50087R), and black (MD50087B).
