On a big Formula One news day, with the official announcement that Fernando Alonso will replace Kimi Raikkonen at Ferrari next season, we also had a big diecast news day!
And the big news was that we received one of the most popular Kyosho replicas that we have ever marketed, which headlined the new Kyosho delivery.
It was of course Paddy Hopkirk’s 1964 Monte Carlo Rally winning Mini Cooper (KY8102A). We hope to get together with Paddy next Friday to get our exclusive signed version completed (KY8102AS), so if that goes according to plan we will be in a position to despatch it on Monday 12th October. If you have ordered the unsigned version, it will already be on its way to you!
The other new Kyosho 1:18 replicas were Timo Makinen’s 1965 Monte Carlo Rally winning Mini Cooper (KY8102B), and the Lamborghini Urraco, in metallic blue (KY8441BM) and red (KY8441R).
I’m not in the office for the next few days, but the diary and Twitter updates will continue as normal!

Today Norev confirmed the new 1:18 replicas that we will see from them on their next delivery, which should be in the middle of October.
The most exciting new subjects are the 2008 Audi A4 DTM cars of Mattias Ekstrom (NV188325) and Tom Kristensen (NV188326).
There will also be Nelson Piquet Jnr’s 2009 Renault R29 (DC2908NV) and, somewhat bizarrely, the 2009 Renault showcar (DC2907P), which will be released after the Fernando Alonso racecar version (DC2907NV), which is already available!

Today Universal Hobbies announced their next 1:16 tractor, and it looks like being one of their most exciting subjects yet. This is no reworked tooling with four big wheels, this is the Nuffield Universal 4 (J2715)! We hope to see it released in early November.
We also saw the release of CMC’s next highly detailed 1:18 replica, which is the Ferrari 250 GT Competizione (CMC077). It looks beautiful, and more than measures up to the levels of detail that we have come to expect from CMC today.

Hot on the heels of their three colourways of the brand new 1:18 Lamborghini Gallardo Superleggera that we received yesterday, AUTOart today announced a further two colourways of it!
These will be white (AA74585), and metallic yellow (AA74584).
In other news, we updated the ‘Last Chance Saloon’ section on our website today. This is for models where we only have one left and then they will be sold out. Incredibly, we now have 199 different replicas in there! Click here to check it out, and grab yourself the very last example of something off our shelves!

Today we received the new AUTOart delivery, which had a whole host of new 1:18 releases on it.
One of the most eagerly anticipated subjects on it though was a restock, the Bugatti Veyron in pearl/blue (AA70908), which is now finally available again!
The most exciting new 1:18 release was the striking Lamborghini Gallardo Superleggera, in orange (AA74581), black (AA74582), and grey (AA74583).
There was also the 1960s Porsche 911S in silver (AA77916) and ivory (AA77918).
Although the 1:18 Volvo 850 sedans in yellow (AA79501) and black (AA79502) and Volvo 850 Estate in yellow (AA79506) weren’t as exciting, they were very interesting releases in that hopefully it means that the Rickard Rydell BTCC versions (1994 Estate – AA89494, 1995 sedan, AA89594) won’t be too far away! I can’t wait to see those, they are going to look fantastic!

Today Minichamps announced an exciting pair of 1:43 Ford Focus road car replicas. These are the RS version in lime green (P088102), and the ST version in burnt orange (P087302). We have been told that these will be low number limited editions, so you might be too late if you wait until they are released before ordering!
We also received a new 1:43 delivery from Spark. This included some very interesting subjects, such as Jean Alesi’s Tyrrell 018 from the 1989 French Grand Prix (SPK1640), Mike Hailwood’s Lotus 25 from the 1964 French Grand Prix (SPK1612), Timo Salonen’s Peugeot 205 T16 from the 1985 Monte Carlo Rally (SPK1268), the #009 Lola Aston Martin from this year’s Le Mans 24 Hours (SPK1458), and the bright green TWR version of the Jaguar XJ220 (SPK769).
Pretty much something for everyone there!

Thanks to everyone who came to our Damages Day on Saturday, We managed to clear a load of our damaged models and free up a lot of space in our warehouse!
In a rather quiet day for diecast (everyone must have been following the Renault FIA hearing!), AUTOart gave me something to talk about by announcing a second colourway of their 1:12 Porsche 911 GT3 RS, which will be black with an orange stripe (AA12116). This is the inverse of the one already announced, which will be orange with a black stripe (AA12117)!
