We Unveil The 2009 World Championship Presentation!

Our 1:18 2009 Formula One World Champion presentation is now available to pre-order (DC2009)! This is the 14th year that we have made one available – I wonder how many people out there have all 14?!

The design is different to last year, with a differently shaped 300 grade stainless steel base, which lists Jenson’s results from every race on the back plate, along with his key statistics for the season. On it will be mounted Minichamps’ 1:18 replica of Jenson Button’s 2009 Brawn BGP001.

Unfortunately, 2009 looks like being the first year in our history where we will not be able to despatch our presentation in time for Christmas, as the Minichamps replicas are not due with us until December 31st! We expect to send out these presentations to our customers very early in 2010.

There’s more Minichamps Valentino Rossi news today, with the news that their 1:12 replica of his ‘First Moto GP win’ 2002 Honda RC211V with figure and flag from Suzuka (PO21046) will be a limited edition of just 4,164. When you think how his ‘First 500cc win’ 2000 Honda NSR 500 with figure from Donington Park was limited to 12,999 pieces, it really shows how Minichamps is making a big effort to get the collectibility back into its brand.

O thats great news, just another question, were the previous few alos limited to that, the previous 4 I have (Lewis, Kimi and two Alonso) I never really knew how limited they were

Thats great. I’m not sure if you’ll know this but will this one be slightly narrower then the Hamilton one. This might sound a daft question but the Hamilton one was a little wide and actually fell of the shelf i tried to put it on alongside the old style wooden based ones. At the moment its sat on top of a wardrobe because it just wont fit on any shelving, I’m hoping this one doesnt suffer the same fate

The last few years’ presnetations have all been limited to 1,000.

I don’t have the exact measurements for this year’s presetation yet, but it should be narrower than last year’s as the car is displayed ’straight on’ this year and not at an angle.
