The big news today was that we were able to confirm our second signing from Mattel’s 1:18 Elite In Music collection.
Following on from Jay Kay’s Ferrari Enzo (HW6255S), we are very excited to also now be able to offer Nick Mason’s Ferrari 512S signed by the musical legend himself as well (HW6253S).
For the rest of the day we were flat out preparing our March ‘Nuremberg special’ issue of Diecast Monthly! This will be supplied to the printers at the end of next week, so should land on your doormats around the weekend of the Bahrain Grand Prix!

Today we received not one, but two 1:16 tractor replicas from Universal Hobbies! These are the Massey Harris 820 Pony (J2800) and the Champion Elan (J2824).
In 1:18 the big news was the latest announcement from Mondo Motors. As with the Lamborghini Reventon, and as with the Pagani Zonda F, they have struck first in announcing a 1:18 replica of the awesome Aston Martin One-77 (MD50105). This is due to be released over the summer, and is definitely going to be a huge hit.
Kyosho also announced several new 1:18 replicas today, covering Ferraris, Lamborghinis, and several Lancia rally cars as well among others. All of the new Kyosho announcements can be viewed by clicking here.
Finally today, Spark was the bearer of good news in confirming price reductions (yes, that’s right, price reductions!) across all of its replicas yet to be released, ranging from £5 to £15. If you have pre-ordered Spark models at the higher prices from us, don’t worry, we will of course charge you the new lower prices!

Today Model Icons announced a few new 1:18 replicas. The first two of these are variations on the Jaguar Mk.II that was announced a couple of weeks ago. These will be immensely popular though, as they are of the famous 1962 Coombes car with the ‘BUY 12’ registration plate, as driven by Graham Hill and Roy Salvadori (MI321001), and a 1968 Jaguar 240 in the livery of the Staffordshire police (MI999001).
Model Icons has also confirmed several other 1:18 British police car replicas as well, namely the 1977 Ford Escort Mk.II of the Hampshire police (MI999002), the 1975 Ford Escort Mk.II of the Thames Valley police (MI999003), the 1985 Ford Escort Mk.III of the Cambridge police (MI999004), the 1987 Ford Escort Mk.III of the Essex police (MI999005), and the 2005 BMW 5 Series of the Metropolitan police (MI999006).
We’ve had customers clamouring for replicas of 1:18 British police cars for years, so these new announcements from Model Icons are definitely going to go down very well indeed!

Today we received the new Minichamps delivery, with two 1:12 replicas the headliners. The first of these was Jorge Lorenzo’s 2008 Yamaha YZR-M1 (PO83048), his first Moto GP bike. We are also offering this replica signed by Lorenzo (PO83048S), and now that it is here we can get on with pinning the young Spaniard down for the signing.
The second 1:12 release was a car, which was Carroll Shelby’s 1960 Maserati Birdcage (PH601698). This looked impressive enough in 1:18 when Minichamps released it in that scale a couple of years ago, but in 1:12 it looks absolutely stunning!
In 1:43 we received two 2009 Formula One cars, Kazuki Nakajima’s Williams FW31 (DC29417), and Sebastien Bourdais’ Toro Rosso STR4 (DC29411). That only leaves a few left to complete the grid now.

Today CMC confirmed its new 1:18 announcements for 2010, and they are all very exciting subjects.
First there is the absolutely beautiful Bugatti Type 57 SC Atlantic, which will be available in blue (CMC083) and black (CMC085).
There will also be a CMC 1:18 transporter, the Bartoletti Ferrari example from 1957 (CMC084).
Moving on to racing replicas, we will see two racing versions of the Ferrari Testa Rossa. The first will be the #22 Testa Rossa from the 1958 Le Mans 24 Hours, as campaigned by Ed Hugus and Ernie Erickson (CMC080). This is in the NART colours of white with a blue stripe. The second racer will be Alan Connell’s 1959 Testa Rossa, in black with a red nose (CMC081).
Finally, there will be Rudolf Caracciola’s winning Mercedes SSKL from the 1931 German Grand Prix (CMC082).
If we see all of these released in 2010, it will surely be CMC’s best year ever!

Today Minichamps confirmed that the limited edition of its 1:12 Valentino Rossi 2008 Barcelona figure (the one in the Italian football strip leathers) will be just 2,846 (PO80086). As I mentioned before, we only have a few pieces left unsold from the quantity that we are going to receive, so we have removed it from our website to ensure that we do not oversell.
We are still taking phone orders on this figure on our Orderline on 0844 887 8888, but before long we will have reached our limit and not be able to accept any more. Today’s news of how small the limited edition is going to be will only make demand for it higher still, so make haste if you do not want to miss out!

Today we received a new delivery from IXO, headlined by the latest release in its La Storia collection, Mike Hawthorn’s 1953 Ferrari 553 (IXSF23). This has actually jumped the queue and been released ahead of #22 in the series, which will be Gerhard Berger’s 1994 Ferrari 412 T1 (IXSF22).
As ever there were also several new 1:43 rally replicas released, among them Matt Wilson’s Ford Focus WRC from the 2008 Monte Carlo Rally (RAM306), Gilles Panizzi’s Peugeot 106 XSI from Corsica 1993 (RAC178), and Stephane Sarrazin’s Peugeot 207 from the 2009 Monte Carlo Rally (RAM364).
You can click here to see all of the new IXO models released today.

Today we received the new Minichamps delivery which, by my reckoning, contained the first new 1:18 Ayrton Senna release for about two years, his 1984 Portuguese Grand Prix (AS842). It looks significantly different to the original Toleman release with the red and white striped bodywork, which was a one-off livery for that race.
The other new 1:18 release was Manfred Winkelhock’s BMW M1 from the 1980 DRM Championship (PG802925).
In 1:43, we received the Lamborghini Gallardo LP560-4 in white (P103800W) and the Porsche 911 GT3 in black (P068020).
We also received the 2010 Minichamps Edition 1 catalogue (MCCAT10), so that is now available straight from stock as well.

Today we had all of the Minichamps 2010 Formula One showcars up on our website to pre-order. You can click here to see them all.
By my reckoning, this is the first time that 1:18 Formula One showcars have been announced since 2005, with McLaren (Button, DC21001P and Hamilton, DC21002P), Mercedes (Schumacher, DC21003P and Rosberg, DC21004P), Red Bull (Vettel, DC21005P and Webber, DC21006P) and Renault (Kubica, DC21011P and Petrov, DC21012P) covered in this scale.
In 1:43 every team will be covered with the obvious exception of Mattel-exclusive Ferrari. Drivers you should definitely get your pre-orders in on to guarantee your example are Button (DC210401P), Hamilton (DC210402P), Schumacher (DC210403P) and Vettel (DC210405P). Of course, with every driver the safest way to ensure you get what you want is to get your pre-orders in!
