Today a couple of very interesting new 1:43 land speed record cars were announced, one from Spark and one from Bizarre.
Spark has announced the 2009 British Steam Car that set a steam land record at the Edwards Airforce Base (SPK2900).
Meanwhile, under the Bizarre label, the famous 1970 Blue Flame Land Speed Record car has been announced, as driven by Gary Gabelich (BZ0399).
All of Bizarre’s recently released Land Speed Record cars have sold out straight away, so pre-orders really would be a good idea on these two subjects.

Today Minichamps confirmed that we will see three very exciting new replicas released from them at the end of May. Two of these are Rossi bikes where the release dates have actually been brought forward, and the third is a Schumacher Mercedes replica!
The Rossi bikes are the 2008 Catalunya Yamaha YZR-M1 (DCL2008), and the 2009 Yamaha YZR-M1 (PO93046). The Catalunya bike is a sell-out to pre-orders, of course, but at least now those of you who managed to get your order in know when to expect it!
The Schumacher Mercedes is his 1:43 2010 showcar (DC210403P), which with a May release date is the earliest we can remember for a Minichamps F1 showcar.
Minichamps’ current release schedule may not have been their most exciting of all time, but it looks like their next one is going to be a humdinger!

It was Sun Star’s turn today to send us a new delivery. You can click here to see all the new releases that were on it.
There were two 1:18 RAC Rally winners, which were Hannu Mikkola’s Ford Escort from 1979 (SS4445), and Juha Kankkunen’s Lancia Delta from 1991 (SS3120). Another classic 1:18 rally winner was Michele Mouton’s Audi Quattro from the 1982 Acropolis (SS4195).
Modern rally cars were represented by Francois Duval’s Ford Focus WRC from the 2008 Rally Germany (SS3943), and Barry Cark’s Focus from the 2008 Rally GB (SS3944).
When it comes to 1:18 rally diecast, Sun Star still rules the roost!

Today we received a new delivery from AUTOart, with a good 20 new releases on it. To see them all you can click here.
My favourite model on the delivery was the #12 Nissan GTR in the Calsonic livery from the 2008 Japan Super GT Championship (AA80877).
Other interesting 1:18 road car releases were the Porsche 911 Carrera 2.7 RS in yellow and black (AA87372), the Alfa Romeo Montreal in orange (AA70172), the Porsche 924 GT in silver (AA78002), and the Porsche 911 GT2 in white (AA77890).
We also received a 1:12 bike and a 1:12 car as well, respectively the Ducati Paul Smart 1000 (AA12556) and the Nissan GTR R35 (AA12216). The Nissan looks absolutely mega, but then it should for £400!

A big thank you to everyone who turned up at our Damages Day on Saturday!
They seem to get more popular every year, and this time we were quite taken aback at the number of customers waiting to get inside our warehouse door as we opened it!
On a more serious note, we were not impressed to hear stories of models being snatched from people’s hands, and next time we will have more staff on hand to ensure that ‘fair play’ is carried out.
Some customers also had the idea of ‘mixing up’ models, which I thought was a good one, to avoid everyone charging for the ‘Formula One table’ in the opening seconds, having studied where it was in the layout photos that we posted on Friday evening!
By the end of the day we only had about 30 damaged models left unsold, having started with almost 700! So, thanks to everyone for helping us clear a load of space in our warehouse!

Today Sun Star confirmed a whole host of new announcements. You can see them all by clicking here.
There are three new 1:18 Ford Escort Mk.IIs confirmed, which are Roger Clark from Wales 1975 (SS4446), Pentti Arikkala from Finland 1976 (SS4447), and Bjorn Waldegaard from the RAC in 1976 (SS4448).
A new roadgoing Ford Escort will be the XR3i cabriolet in metallic grey (SS4991) and black (SS4992).
An interesting modern rally car subject is Kris Meeke’s Citroen Xsara WRC from the 2008 Bettega Memorial Rallysprint (SS4472).
There were also several new 1:12 models announced, including the original Morris Mini Minor in white (SS5301) and the Morris Minor Million in lilac (SS4783).
The rest of the day I was up to my eyeballs in damaged models, preparing for our Damages Day at our Guildford premises on Saturday! I’ve got more of the same in store tomorrow!

Today we received the biggest Spark delivery of all time! You can click here to see the plethora of new releases that were on it!
There were no less than four new replicas on it that I’d had on order for my own collection, which were Jean Alesi’s 1990 Tyrrell 019 (SPK1698), Mika Hakkinen’s 1991 Lotus 102B (SPK1676), Timo Scheider’s 2009 DTM Audi A4 (SPK2505), and Martin Tomczyk’s 2009 DTM Audi A4 (SPK2508).
Other highlights were the 1980 Le Mans winning Rondeau (SPA18L080) and 1994 Le Mans winning Dauer Porsche (SPA18L094) in 1:18 scale, and other 1:43 2009 DTM Audi A4s for Tom Kristensen (SPK2506), Mattias Ekstrom (SPK2507) and Mike Rockenfeller (SPK2509).
More 1:43 classic F1 replicas to feast your eyes on were Riccardo Patrese’s 1984 Alfa Romeo 184T (SPK1711), and Ivan Capelli’s 1987 Leyton House (SPK1650).
We also received Minichamps’ latest weekly delivery today, its second iteration of the 1:12 Laverda Jota (the version without the front fairing) the highlight on it (P122501).
Judging by the numbers of pre-orders we had on all these models, there are plenty of you out there who can expect a parcel from us in the near future!
