Today (or rather last thing on Friday, but it was too late for the diary entry!) Minichamps announced a new 1:43 road car replica, and it is going to be one of their most popular road car models ever!
It is of the awesome 2010 Ford Focus RS500 in matt black (P088104), and it has already generated a huge amount of interest amongst collectors.
Only 500 of the real car will be manufactured, all of them in matt black, and only 101 will make it to the UK.
Of course, we expect more examples of Minichamps’ replica to make it to these shores but, judging by the number of pre-orders we have taken already, this is not one that you are going to want to risk still being available after it has been released!

Today Minichamps announced the first part of its 2010 Formula One race car line-up.
In 1:18 there will be the McLaren MP4/25s of Jenson Button (DC21001) and Lewis Hamilton (DC21002), the Mercedes MGP W01s of Michael Schumacher (DC21003) and Nico Rosberg (DC21004), and the Red Bull RB6s of Sebastian Vettel (DC21005) and Mark Webber (DC21006).
In 1:43 we will see the McLaren MP4/25s of Jenson Button (DC210401) and Lewis Hamilton (DC210402), the Mercedes MGP W01s of Michael Schumacher (DC210403) and Nico Rosberg (DC210404), the Red Bull RB6s of Sebastian Vettel (DC210405) and Mark Webber (DC210406), the Renault RE30s of Robert Kubica (DC210411) and Vitaly Petrov (DC210412), the Force India VJM03s of Adrian Sutil (DC210414) and Vitantonio Liuzzi (DC210415), and the Toro Rosso STR5s of Sebastien Buemi (DC210416) and Jaime Alguersuari (DC210417).
A couple of 1:43 specials have already been announced too, in the form of Jenson Button’s winning McLaren from Australia (DC210401A), and Nico Rosberg’s third place Mercedes from Malaysia (DC210404M). These respectively commemorate Button’s first win for McLaren and the first Mercedes podium since its comeback as a Formula One team.
Minichamps did stress however that this was not its complete list of the 2010 F1 grid, so we hope that the ‘missing’ teams will be added before long.
Norev also announced a new 1:43 replica, in the form of Kimi Raikkonen’s first ever world championship rally in a WRC car; his Citroen C4 WRC from the 2010 Rally of Sweden (NV155432). The retail price is £35.99, but we have seen it offered elsewhere with quite a substantial premium at £39.99, where yet to be released 1:43 IXO rally cars were also being pre-sold for £29.99 instead of the RRP of £27.99. Remember, we never charge more than the retail price!

Today we received the week’s new Minichamps delivery, although it is safe to say it’s one of their ‘tamer’ ones! All the new releases were in 1:43.
Highlights were one of our more popular emergency vehicles, the Stuttgart fire service Porsche Cayenne (P066294), along with the Ford Focus in yellow (P084002), and the Porsche 911 4S in white (P065322).
We also heard that there is going to be a ‘week off’ between the end of the current Minichamps release schedule and the start of the next one, so we are not expecting any new subjects from Aachen in the week beginning 26th April. We hope to hear what will be on the next Minichamps release schedule soon.

To start off the week Minichamps has confirmed the release dates for its next two 1:12 Valentino Rossi Yamaha replicas.
The first of these is the already pre-sold out Catalunya Yamaha from 2008 with the Italian football team livery (DCL2008), which we are due to receive the week beginning 28th June. That’s still quite a long way away considering that we’re not able to sell any more!
The second release will be Rossi’s 2009 Yamaha YZR-M1, which took him to his ninth world championship and his seventh in the top class (PO93046). This one is due to be released the week beginning 2nd August.
A good summer for the Rossi collectors amongst you then!
