A Stirling Effort From SMTS
Today we received our first delivery for a while from white metal manufacturer SMTS.
Three of the four subjects were of cars driven by the great Sir Stirling Moss. Perhaps the most significant is the Ferguson P99 that Moss drove to victory in the 1961 Oulton Park Gold Cup (SMTS312). This is the only ever victory for a four-wheel drive car in a Formula One race.
There is also Stirling Moss’s Ferguson P99 from the 1961 British Grand Prix (SMTS311), and the Maserati 250F that Stirling drove in the 1954 Italian Grand Prix (SMTS292).
Denis Hulme’s 1967 world championship winning Brabham BT24 (SMTS288) also arrived today.
