Mattel Announces Lauda’s 1976 Ferrari in 1:18

posted in Diecast, Other Cars, Formula 1 |

Today we received a new announcement from Mattel, and we also have news of some forthcoming new releases from Bell.

Incredibly, Mattel has already sent us its 2014 announcements. We usually receive the American company’s programme just before Christmas, so this latest set is exceptionally early.

There was one subject in particular that caught our eye: the 1:18 Niki Lauda 1976 Ferrari 312 T2 (HWBLY40). The decision to model this car in the larger scale has undoubtedly been prompted by the movie Rush.

They’re perhaps a little late to the party, but it will be cool to have a 1:18 Lauda Ferrari and a 1:18 Hunt McLaren sitting side by side on the shelf!

In other news, we’re pleased to announce that we will be able to obtain some of Bell’s 1:2 scale 2013 Lotus helmets for Kimi Raikkonen (HEL016) and Romain Grosjean (HEL017).
