American Racing Subjects Announced By Spark

posted in Endurance, Diecast |

Today we put another glut of Spark’s 2014 announcements onto our website. This set consisted of 1:43 American racing subjects from series such as Can-Am, IMSA and NASCAR.

The most interesting announcement, for our customers at least, was probably the Lola T160 that John Surtees raced during the 1968 Can-Am season (SPK1173). Models of cars that were driven by F1 champions, no matter in what discipline, always prove to be popular.

One of the more unusual announcements was the Mac’s IT Special that was driven by Hiroshi Fushida in the Laguna Seca round of the 1970 Can-Am championship (SPK1176). Apparently, this unusual machine was powered by four Rotex two stroke motorcycle engines, one on each wheel.

We’re also really excited by the IMSA championship winners that have been announced. Al Holbert’s 1976 Chevrolet Monza (SPK0860) looks seriously mean, and Geoff Brabham’s Nissan 88 GTP (SPK3583) is iconic.
