BBR Announces First Ever 1:18 F1 Replicas

posted in Road Cars, Resin, Diecast, Formula 1 |

Today both BBR and Kyosho announced exciting subjects.

2014 marks the 30th anniversary of BBR. To commemorate this milestone, the Italian company has embarked upon a new project.

For the first time in their history, BBR is going to make a 1:18 Ferrari F1 car. Excitingly, they have chosen to replicate the Ferrari 126 C2, which has never been replicated in 1:18 before.

Both the Gilles Villeneuve (BBR1894B) and Didier Pironi (BBR1894A) versions will be from the controversial 1982 San Marino Grand Prix. In that notorious race, Pironi ran with front wings and Villeneuve didn’t, so the models will differ slightly.

Though they aren’t cheap at £399.99, you can guarantee that this pair is going to look absolutely fantastic. BBR hope that they will be available at the end of the year.

Meanwhile, Kyosho announced 1:18 replicas of the Land Rover Defender 90 in both Aintree Green (KY8901G) and Indis Silver (KY8901IS). Kyosho has been very quiet of late, so we hope this is the start of a bit of a comeback for the brand.
