Just In: CMC’s 1:18 Le Mans Alfa

Today we received new models from CMC and Spark.

CMC’s 1:18 replica of the Alfa Romeo 8C 2900B Speciale Touring Coupe that Raymond Sommer and Clemente Biondetti drove in the 1938 Le Mans 24 Hours (CMC111) landed in our warehouse just before the close of play.

There are a number of differences between the road car and the race car and, of course, CMC has gone to great lengths to include these on this exquisite replica.

Some of the modifications include an entirely new, hand-made front grille, additional front and rear licence plates, elongated oil and fuel fillers, a fire extinguisher inside the left door, an engine-starting crank, headlights that are fitted with removable red-tinted covers and protective mesh nets, and so on. We should also mention that it’s a limited edition of 3,000 pieces worldwide.

It’s incredible that Spark has managed the release the 1:43 Mercedes F1 W05s of Lewis Hamilton (DC214444K) and Nico Rosberg (DC214406K) just days after the championship was decided in Abu Dhabi.  Our first delivery of the Hamilton car, by the way, sold out completely to pre-orders, but we will be getting restocks in the near future.

Other 1:43 highlights included the Citroen C-Elysees that Sebastien Loeb (SPK2461) and Yvan Muller (SPK2460) drove in this year’s WTCC, and the Ligier JS27 that Rene Arnoux raced in the 1986 British Grand Prix (SPK3971).
