Peterson Tyrrell Tops TrueScale Delivery

posted in Uncategorized |

Today we received a new delivery from TrueScale Miniatures, which was headed by the 1:18 Tyrrell P34 that Ronnie Peterson drove to third place in the 1977 Belgian Grand Prix (TSM141808). This model is slightly different from the Depailler version in that it has wet tyres, and TrueScale has also shown great attention to detail by replicating the cutaway in the bodywork, which allowed the relatively tall Peterson to comfortably fit in the car.

Another excellent 1:18 replica was the Porsche 936/76 that Rolf Stommelen drove to second in the Nurburgring 300km (TSM141826). This was the Porsche 936’s debut race.

A pair of Corvettes was the highlight in the smaller scale: the Chevrolet Corvette L88 that Tony DeLorenzo and Don Yenko drove in the 1971 Daytona 24 Hours (TSM144319), and the 1969 Chevrolet Corvette Astrovette (TSM144317), which was one of the cars built especially for the Apollo 12 astronauts who landed on the moon.
