Minichamps Announces 1:18 Mansell 1987 Williams

posted in Endurance, Resin, Diecast, Formula 1 |

It’s all about Minichamps today, as the Aachen brand confirmed two extremely exciting resin 1:18 classic F1 subjects, and delivered some new replicas to us as well.

We’ll start with the brilliant news that Minichamps has announced the 1:18 Nigel Mansell 1987 Williams FW11B (PG870005). Our Nige was at the wheel of an FW11B during one of his most famous moments, performing that famous dummy on Nelson Piquet on his way to victory in the 1987 British Grand Prix at Silverstone.

This is without doubt one of the British hero’s most iconic machines and, to make it even more special, Nigel Mansell is going to sign a limited number of the 1:18 Williams FW11B when it is eventually released (PG870005S).

Minichamps also announced a Formula One World Champion that has never been replicated in the larger scale before: Nelson Piquet’s 1981 Brabham BT49 (PG180005). We saw a sample of this model at the Nuremberg Toy Fair and, although it needed a bit more work, it was taking shape nicely. Hopefully we shouldn’t have too long to wait for it.

In terms of new releases, we received the 1:18 Sebastian Vettel 2014 Red Bull RB10 (DC21401), as well as the 1:18 2012 McLaren MP4-12C GT3 in red (PG121392) and white (PG121394).
